Bucovina is famous for its preserved traditions, but also for the hospitality of the locals. The area is also known for its numerous natural resources. One such place is Vatra Dornei and its mineral springs. Thousands of tourists go there every year to treat some of their health issues.



Vatra Dornei is a location that one can visit both in the snow season as well as in the summer. As a calm and modern resort, it will allow you to relax, and due to the many touristic attractions and leisure opportunities you will not get the chance to get bored. Vatra Dornei is located in the Eastern Carpathians in the Dorna Depression, surrounded by the Calimani, Bistritza, Giumalau, Rodna and Obcina Mestecanish Mountains that create great mountaineous scenery and makes the resort so much appreciated.



Vatra Dornei, also known as the "Pearl of Bucovina" has the longest chairlift lay-out and the highest quality ozone in the country.



Vatra Dornei is situated at an altitude of 802 m in the Dorna Depression, 112 km away from Suceava and 89 km from Bistrita Nasaud.

Vatra Dornei is known as a resort for all ages, addressing both to people who want to strengthen their body through mountain climbing or winter sports as well as to those who want to rest in the balneary spa.



For winter sports enthusiasts, the resort has a ski area that consists of four tracks, two of which benefit of night lighting and artificial snow installation.


Vatra Dornei benefit of 5.4 km ratified ski slide, the Black Hill (Dealul Negru) slide being one of the longest in the country.

The ‘Park 1’ Ski Slide, located in the center, is one of the most visited ski slopes in the north, having a medium difficulty level. At the slide’s feet there is a snow tubing runway and the Euroski’ ski school. The slide has nocturnal lighting, snow cannons and the access to the transport facilities is based on a skipass.



The ‘Park 2’ Ski Slide is situated above The ‘Park 1’ Ski Slide, making the connection with the ‘Squirrel’ Ski Slide. The Slide, with a length of 550 meters, has a width optimal for beginners, with an easy difficulty degree, and the access to the transport facility is based on skipass.

The ‘Squirrel’ Ski Slide benefits of artificial snow production installation, the access to the transport facility being made based on skipass. The Slide has a length of 850 meters, is lit at night with a nocturnal lighting modern installation and it is equipped with a ski-lift facility with a transportation capacity for 900 persons per hour.


The ‘Black Hill’ Ski Slide has a medium difficulty degree and the length of 3,000 meters. The ‘Departure’ altitude is 1,250 meters and the ‘Arrival’ one is of 850 meters. The Slide is served by a ski-lift, but does not have night lighting and artificial snow.


The ‘Black Hill’ Ski Slide is the third slide in the country considering its length, and the first in Moldova. The Slide benefits of snow tubing with a conveyor belt.
